It’s not quartz, it’s cheese: discover the Non-Mineral Collection

We present the Non-Mineral Collection, the collection of minerals never seen before: Rose Quartz from Madagascar, Calcite from the mines of South Africa, Sulfur stone from some volcano… Not to take away glamour, but nothing like that. This is a piece of clueless cheese that has been in the fridge for 3 days.

With this ironic nod to the changes that occur in food during refrigeration, Grupo Lantero launches ReKeepEat, a new package designed to preserve freshness for longer and reduce food waste. The solution consists of a 100% monomaterial PET tray and lid, which incorporates an advanced resealable technology that allows opening and closing the container without losing functionality.

cuarzo rosaReKeepEat is a solution of Coexpan and Emsur, companies of Grupo Lantero, and has been developed entirely in Innotech, its open and collaborative innovation center. The eco-design of this product responds to a double objective: “Each decision in the design of ReKeepEat responds to a clear principle, to reduce the use of materials to the maximum and minimize the environmental impact throughout the product’s life cycle, from manufacturing to recycling,” says Walter Turci, R&D director at Coexpan.

Both the tray and the lid are made of PET; an advantage that simplifies the recycling process by avoiding the mixing of materials, favoring their recyclability and contributing to the circular economy. On the other hand, PET allows recycled content to be integrated into the manufacturing flow. The result? A simple consumer experience and more environmentally efficient manufacturing and recycling processes.

One product, many solutions

In addition to its functionality, ReKeepEat stands out for its versatility: it is suitable for sliced products, meats or ready meals, both vacuum-packed and in modified atmosphere. Its design brings convenience to consumers, allowing them to use more convenient family formats and to transport products with ease.

Its adaptable format also makes it an ideal solution for manufacturers, as it is a package capable of responding to diverse market needs and generating new business opportunities.

With ReKeepEat, Grupo Lantero reinforces its commitment to the circular economy and responsible innovation. Álvaro Bernard, corporate director of Innovation, Marketing and Sustainability at Grupo Lantero defines this product as, “a tangible example of how innovation can drive sustainability and open up new business opportunities. With this solution, we reinforce our commitment to a more responsible packaging with real value for our customers”.

This packaging has won first prize in the Large Company category of the V Ecodesign Contest, organized by the CONAMA Foundation, one of the most important contests in its field. During the event, the jury valued its commitment to sustainability, its high recyclability and its functional design as a milestone in the packaging sector.

It has also been awarded in the Foodtech Innovation Awards 2025 as the best “Disruptive solution in the packaging market” for its innovative proposal. Additionally, it is a finalist in the Sustainability Awards 2025 of Packaging Europe magazine, whose awards will be presented in November in Utrecht.
